There may be quizes. There may be music. There will definitely be fun!
Grab your tea, coffee, hot choc….or even something a little stronger… for a 45 minute conversation that will fly by - without leaving home!
These classes are designed for people who already have SOME Spanish and want to practise.
Each class is delivered using Zoom. so just follow the link you’re sent when you book, test your microphone’s working - and your camera if you have one - and you’re good to go.

❋ Charlas: Monthly Online Conversation Classes
Thursday September 3, 6.30pm - 45 mins
You can’t go many places without paying - which offers us the perfect chance to go shopping, virtually!
Try out your Spanish as you negotiate the shops and markets of Spain, in Spanish!
Whether you’re a shopaholic or just grab the basics and run, this class will help you feel confident about finding the bread in aisle three, asking what that weird vegetable in the market is, or finding the designer bargain of the year in the smarter streets of Madrid or Barcelona.
The topic gives us a theme to work with. Classes with Claire brings the (fun) structure.
You just make yourself comfortable and turn up. Spend virtual millions or keep a tight clasp on your wallet - either way knowing how and what to pay is easier when you know how.

Latecomers may join up to 10 minutes late, maximum. After this, no access will be allowed.
If you miss a booked class we can change you to another scheduled session on a one off basis.
It’s up to you if you want to look vocabulary up in advance - the more you put in, the more you’ll benefit. There’s no expectation, however - you’ll have the basics given to you.

Love them or hate them, olives are always somewhere in the background in Spain.
The trees mark the landscape.
In meals, served as tapas, and made into some of the best olive oil in the World, we shouldn’t take for granted the humble olive and the work that goes into creating it.
And how do you tell good olive oil?
Book well in advance for this charla: a week before you’ll be emailed an information pack with information about olives and olive oil to keep the discussion lively and make this charla a learning journey that’s about so much more than a humble olive!
(In Spanish, of course)

For this ‘charla’, I recommend you look at the materials in advance if you have time to make the most of the conversation.
❋ Making Spanish Learning and Conversation Easier
It’s fabulous knowing what we know. We can ask for directions, a product, where something’s been put. And if we don’t know, there’s always Google Translate.
BUT accents and very fast talking can make understanding the answer hard for the non-native Spanish speaker. So how are we going to ask people to slow down or help us understand them better?
The topic gives us a theme for discussion. Classes with Claire brings the (fun) structure to help you ask for help without simply relying on hand gestures or hoping someone else understood what they were saying.
You just make yourself comfortable and turn up - this is the one class where you deliberately get stuck and work your way around it!

This class will be repeated bi monthly - pick your date.
Free to students already booked on ‘Classes with Claire’ - consider it part of your learning experience. ASk in class for a code if you don’t already have it.

❋ Fun and Games Online
A brilliant way to get those numbers in Spanish licked - join us for our monthly game of Bingo online.
The prize is an online event of your choice - and improving your Spanish of course.
It’ll be fun, and a great way to help those numbers come back to you - eventually without even thinking about it.
If you book this Christmas singalong at least 3 days in advance, you’ll be sent a list of carols on YouTube - old favourites like Silent Night and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - to practise ahead of time in Spanish.
After that, I’ll do my best to get you the list in plenty of time, but you can book to join right up until the last minute for this Christmassy singalong silliness.
It’s up to you how much translation you want to do. The words will be on screen in Spanish for you to sing along to with us.
Bring the cat. Bring a friend. Bring a neighbour. But mostly bring your Christmas good cheer.
This is a singalong, not an X Factor audition,so grab your mince pies (not very Spanish!) and enjoy our last ‘charla’ of 2026 - ‘Classes with Claire’ style!
