Book in advance for a fun, topic driven conversation.
There may be quizes. There may be music. There will definitely be fun!
Grab your tea, coffee, hot choc….or even something a little stronger… for a 45 minute conversation that will fly by - without leaving home!
These classes are designed for people who already have SOME Spanish and want to practise.
Each class is delivered using Zoom. (Set up instructions will be delivered when you book.)

Please note: at checkout you will be offered the option to check out by simply adding their card information without having to sing-up or login to Link. This is a ‘digital wallet’ service from the website’s (secure) payment processors that saves your payment information. If you sign up for Link, or use your existing Link account, it will automatically fill in your payment and shipping details during checkout for future orders.
When you pay, it feels like this sign up is obligatory. It’s not.
Quite rightly, I have no control over what appears during the processing of payments, but having tested the system, I feel that this should be more explicit. You do NOT have to sign up for Link - it’s a safe banking tool, designed to save you time, but entirely optional.

It’s holiday season, and the bustle of the airport gives us plenty of scope to chat about travel.
So ‘the airport’ is the theme, the subject to start the discussion and get the conversation rolling.
Classes with Claire brings the fun structure, even if the average airport is mostly anything BUT fun!
Make yourself comfortable, strap up and join us for a 45 minute ‘flight’ - from passport control to baggage collection…. grab your boarding pass now!
Notes:
Classes are via Zoom, so you’ll need to make sure you have access in advance. (We’ll send instructions)
Latecomers may join up to 10 minutes late, maximum.
If you miss a booked class we can change you to another scheduled session on a one off basis.
It’s up to you if you want to look vocabulary up in advance - the more you put in, the more you’ll benefit. There’s no expectation, however - you’ll have the basics given to you.
Thursday, July 30 , 6.30 pm - 45 mins
With the superhot weather we’ve been experiencing, the unpredictability of the British weather, and good dousings of rain, there’s never been a better time to talk about the weather.
And anyway, we’re British. The weather is a national sport!
Join us for a friendly online chat in Spanish, which may veer off topic, but that doesn’t matter - as long as you’re talking and practising your Spanish, that’s what’s important.

Do you own a pet?
Does a pet own you?
Do you choose not to have one?
Do you travel with your pet, or arrange a sitter?
How do you call the vet in Spanish?
The topic gives us a theme. Classes with Claire brings the (fun) structure.
You just make yourself comfortable and turn up. Pets invited to join free of charge!

If you book this Christmas singalong at least 3 days in advance, you’ll be sent a list of carols on YouTube - old favourites like Silent Night and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - to practise ahead of time in Spanish.
After that, I’ll do my best to get you the list in plenty of time, but you can book to join right up until the last minute for this Christmassy singalong silliness.
It’s up to you how much translation you want to do. The words will be on screen in Spanish for you to sing along to with us.
Bring the cat. Bring a friend. Bring a neighbour. But mostly bring your Christmas good cheer.
This is a singalong, not an X Factor audition,so grab your mince pies (not very Spanish!) and enjoy our last ‘charla’ of 2026 - ‘Classes with Claire’ style!
Thursday, July 23 , 6.30 pm - 45 mins
It’s fabulous knowing what we know. We can ask for directions, a product, where something’s been put. And if we don’t know, there’s always Google Translate.
But accents and very fast talking can make understanding the answer hard for the non-native Spanish speaker. So how are we going to ask people to slow down or help us understand them better?
The topic gives us a theme for discussion. Classes with Claire brings the (fun) structure to help you ask for help without simply relying on hand gestures or hoping someone else understood what they were saying.
You just make yourself comfortable and turn up - this is the one class where you deliberately get stuck and work your way around it!

You can’t go many places without paying - which offers us the perfect chance to go shopping, virtually!
Try out your Spanish as you negotiate the shops and markets of Spain, in Spanish! Whether you’re a shopaholic or just grab the basics and run, this class will help you feel confident about finding the bread in aisle three, asking what that weird vegetable in the market is, or finding the designer bargain of the year in the smart streets of Madrid or Barcelona.
The topic gives us a theme to work with. Classes with Claire brings the (fun) structure.
You just make yourself comfortable and turn up. Spend virtual millions or keep a tight clasp on your wallet - either way knowing how and what to pay is easier when you know how.

Advanced Speakers ‘Open Mic’
What’s that one thing you’re struggling with, or want to practise?
Is it the difference between ‘ser and estar’ or ‘por and para’?
Is it unravelling past tenses?
Let me know. I’ll consider putting on ‘ad hoc’ courses to meet those needs - if you’re struggling, someone else will be too!
Can’t find the online class that you’d like?
We can’t please all of the people all of the time - but if there’s something you’d like to see, I may be able to schedule it.
So get in touch, let me know: let’s see what we can do. If you want it, there’s every chance someone else will as well!
