Charla, Slow down....¡Por favor! (Repeat)
Thursday November 19, 6.30 pm - 45 mins
Our class from September 17 , repeated for new learners!
It’s fabulous knowing what we know. We can ask for directions, a product, where something’s been put. And if we don’t know, there’s always Google Translate.
BUT accents and very fast talking can make understanding the answer hard for the non-native Spanish speaker. So how are we going to ask people to slow down or help us understand them better?
The topic gives us a theme for discussion. Classes with Claire brings the (fun) structure to help you ask for help without simply relying on hand gestures or hoping someone else understood what they were saying.
You just make yourself comfortable and turn up - this is the one class where you deliberately get stuck and work your way around it!
Notes:
Classes are via Zoom, so you’ll need to make sure you have access in advance.
Latecomers may join up to 10 minutes late, maximum.
If you miss a class we can change you to another scheduled session on a one off basis.
It’s up to you if you want to look vocabulary up in advance - the more you put in, the more you’ll benefit. There’s no expectation, however - you’ll have the basics given to you.
If you don’t feel ready for this conversation, this class will be repeated every few months for newer learners to join.
