The week ahead as we head into August
What’s lying head for ‘Classes with Claire’ this week?
In person Spanish classes
The start of Arundel Spanish classes is imminent (early September), so now is a great time to get signed up. The evening class has slipped back a week so that I can offer support to someone via a charity I volunteer with. (I wouldn’t normallly have interupted classes for this - work usually comes first - but this a brave woman who has waited nearly 20 years to be heard and she has her first court hearding on September 8.)
Ferring Classes are now in full swing. If you want to join our lovely Tuesday morning group, the best thing to do is call/contact me - firstly, you won’t want to pay full price for a course that’s already started, and secondly I might need to work with you to get you up to speed with the class.
This week we’ll be at the Henty Arms pub as our Village Hall room is being refurbished.
Wednesday Spanish evening classes in Littlehampton are now taking place in the Soul Kitchen on Pier Road in Littlehampton. We are close to reorganising the daytime course for a Monday AFTERNOON rather than morning - watch this space!
Online classes
This week’s Thursday online class is talking about the weather: ¡Ay que calor!
It’ll be a discussion. I’ll provide an outline for discussion, but this is your class, and I’m ready to go ‘off piste’, espcialluy in light of the wildfires that have taken hold in Spain of late, including in the place I last lived, Almeria.
If we hit on this, I can’t promise to make it fun, but I can promise to make it engaging, useful, and good for your spoken Spanish!
Meet?
I’ll be at The Beach (bar/restaurant) in Littlehampton bright and early on Thursday morning as part of my ‘get out and get to know people locally’ crusade. Hope to see you there? (More information: here.)
It’s a ‘home from home’ - I join a really lovely crowd there on the last Sunday of each month for a beach clean and really like the place.
Teasers
Keep an eye out this week for news on a couple more things brewing in Rustington and some exciting family oriented Spanish teaching news. On past performance, this may take longer to have sorted than I hope, but keep an eye on the blog and social spaces to get the news first, or sign up for the newsletter - link below. (Facebook and LinkedIn mostly - I’m still not totally happy with video, but I’m getting there!!)
By the way, a couple more events, online and off, have been scheduled. We have a wine tasting, some online Bingo classes (great for numbers practise if that’s your weak spot) and even a Christmas singalong: Spanish events.
Thanks for reading to the end - hope our paths cross this week,
Claire
